Here is a very simple marinade for pork and beef bulgogi (Korean grilled marinated beef and pork). To make it quick and easy, I’m using a store-bought Korean BBQ sauce as a base.
To enhance the sauce, I add sesame oil and chopped green onions. The sesame oil adds an amazing toasted aroma, and the chopped green onions add freshness.
This is a great Korean product to use when you are in a rush and need something tasty.
The marinade has a sweet and fruity flavor, with crushed pears acting as a sweetener and natural meat tenderizer.

Description
Perfect for a quick and flavorful Korean BBQ, this pork and beef bulgogi marinade uses a delicious store-bought Korean BBQ sauce as the base, with a few extra ingredients to liven it up. Use either galbi/kalbi or bulgogi sauces.
Ingredients
- 1 lb meat (thinly sliced beef or pork belly/pork shoulder)
- 1 cup store-bought Korean BBQ sauce (CJ or Wang brands)
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 2 green onions (thinly sliced)
Instructions
- Mix together Korean BBQ sauce, sesame oil, and chopped green onions. Adjust to taste if needed. If it’s too sweet, add a little light soy sauce.
- Add the meat and marinate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight in the fridge for better results.
- Grill: Thinly sliced meat requires about 2 minutes of grilling per side. For bone-in meat, add an additional 2 minutes per side.
