Description

A refreshing, ice-blended drink for hot weather and a healthier alternative to traditional American milkshakes. Made with ripe avocados, milk, sweetened condensed milk, and granulated sugar, this sweet dessert drink has a smooth, velvety texture.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 cup whole ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup choice of milk (I'm using whole milk)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons tablespoons granulated white sugar

Instructions

  1. Prep the avocado: Cut the avocado in half lengthwise. Carefully tap the blade of your knife into the pit, twist gently to release it, and discard. Scoop the flesh directly into the blender.
  2. Blend: Add the ice, milk, sweetened condensed milk, and sugar. Blend on high until completely smooth. In a high-powered blender like a Vitamix, this takes about 20 seconds to reach a thick, velvety consistency.
  3. Serve: Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately!
