Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a half sheet baking pan with parchment paper for easy cleanup and set it aside.
  2. Combine wet ingredients: In a large mixing bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, combine your softened butter, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and egg. Beat them together until the wet mixture is completely smooth and creamy.
  3. Add dry ingredients: Pour the all-purpose flour, matcha powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt directly into the wet ingredients. Mix everything together on low speed with your mixer just until a soft dough forms. Add the white chocolate chips and gently fold them in until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough. Be careful not to overmix the dough.
  4. Portion out the cookie dough evenly to make exactly 9 cookies. Place the dough balls on your prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch between each cookie to allow room for spreading.
  5. Bake the cookies for about 14 minutes. You will know they are done when the edges are set but the middle is still very soft. If they do not come out perfectly round, gently push the edges of the cookies together with an utensil like a wooden spoon to form perfect circles while they are still hot and pliable. Allow your cookies to cool and set on the pan for a few minutes before enjoying.
