Here's a quick air fryer salmon recipe. No need to wait for marinating. Simply coat the salmon in a savory mixture of miso, garlic, honey, and soy sauce, then air fry.

This recipe combines the rich, buttery taste of salmon with deep, umami flavors from miso and soy sauce.

You get perfectly cooked salmon with a slightly crispy exterior and tender, flaky interior.

Best of all, everything comes together in under 15 minutes.

What You Will Need

  • Salmon Fillets: Salmon is packed with Omega-3 fatty acids and has a rich, buttery flavor. It's your choice whether to keep the skin on or not. I personally enjoy it. If you prefer your salmon without the skin and couldn't find skinless fillets, pour boiling water over the skin. Wait until it cools enough to handle, and then simply pull it off.

  • Miso Paste: Miso paste is the base of the marinade. It adds a deep umami flavor. Use white miso for a milder taste or red miso for a stronger punch. I’m using white miso here.

  • Soy Sauce: Soy sauce adds more flavor. Opt for low-sodium if you’re watching your salt intake. I’m using Lee Kum Kee premium light soy sauce.

  • Honey: Honey balances the saltiness with touch of sweetness. Maple syrup can be used as a substitute.

  • Garlic: Garlic is a must for that garlicky aroma. Fresh is best but you can use garlic powder or granulated garlic if you don’t have fresh garlic on hand.

  • Cooking oil: You just need a little bit of neutral cooking oil to grease or spray the inside of the air fryer to prevent the fish from sticking. I’m using avocado oil cooking spray.

Here I’m serving the air fried salmon bites with steamed white rice and air fried green beans, which I made right after the salmon.

To cook the green beans, spray them with cooking oil and cook them the same way as the salmon bites (400°F for 8 minutes).
